Every June, the Festa del Nodo d'Amore draws thousands of people to dine at long tables set on the Visconteo bridge itself, a spectacle that has been running for decades and that locals treat with considerable civic pride. The restaurants clustered around the old centre take the pasta equally seriously throughout the year, and a plate of Valeggio tortellini in broth is as good a reason as any to make the detour from Verona or Lake Garda, both of which lie within easy reach.
