Atelier des Lumières

The Atelier des Lumières occupies a former iron foundry in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, its vast industrial walls and vaulted ceilings transformed into a canvas for large-scale digital art projections. The foundry dates to the early nineteenth century, and its raw architecture, exposed metalwork, and cavernous floor space give the immersive format a scale and atmosphere that purpose-built venues rarely achieve. Since opening in 2018, the Atelier has established itself as one of Paris's most distinctive cultural spaces, drawing audiences into floor-to-ceiling worlds of colour and sound.

The current programme centres on the Renaissance Exhibition, an immersive journey through the art and ideas of one of history's most transformative periods. Works by the great painters and thinkers of the Renaissance are reinterpreted through projected imagery that fills every surface of the foundry, placing visitors inside the compositions rather than before them. The result is an encounter with familiar masterpieces on an entirely unfamiliar scale.
