Kuranda Koala Gardens and Birdworld Kuranda are two adjacent wildlife attractions in Kuranda, a rainforest village in the hills above Cairns. Entry covers both sites, giving visitors access to a range of Australian fauna across open enclosures and a free-flight aviary. Kuranda itself sits within the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area, and the attractions are located at 4 Rob Veivers Drive in the village centre, making them easy to combine with other Cairns attractions on the same day trip.
At Koala Gardens, visitors can observe koalas, kangaroos, quokkas, wallabies, and freshwater crocodiles, with kangaroo food included in the entry ticket. A dedicated nocturnal animal exhibit and a reptile section round out the wildlife on show. Birdworld houses more than 60 bird species in a recreated tropical rainforest setting, including cassowaries, macaws, and rainbow lorikeets moving freely through the habitat. A bird spotter's guide is included with entry to help identify species. Guided tours and wildlife photography packages are not included and must be arranged separately. Tickets are valid for the selected timeslot, and free cancellation is available before that timeslot begins. Wheelchair access is available across both sites.
