The Auschwitz-Birkenau Guided Tour is a four-hour guided visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, located near Oświęcim, approximately 70 kilometres west of Krakow. The site encompasses two main areas: Auschwitz I, the original camp established in 1940, and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the larger extermination complex built from 1941. Together they form one of the most significant Holocaust memorial sites in the world, preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The tour departs from 20 Więźniów Oświęcimia and is led by a licensed guide throughout.
Over the course of the visit, the licensed guide leads the group through preserved barracks, watchtowers, and memorial areas across both camp sections, providing historical context on the conditions, the scale of the atrocities committed, and the broader significance of the Holocaust. Named exhibits include personal belongings, documents, and photographs held within the museum collections. A multilingual guidebook is included to support understanding of the site. Entry tickets and the live guided tour are covered by booking; gratuities are not included. Please note that the site does not have wheelchair access, and the cancellation policy is non-refundable.
