The Jungfraujoch roundtrip train from Interlaken Ost is a rail excursion that connects Interlaken with the Jungfraujoch saddle at 3,454 metres above sea level, one of the highest railway stations in Europe. The route runs via Grindelwald, where passengers board the Eiger Express cable car, which opened in 2020 and covers the ascent to Eigergletscher station in around 15 minutes. Along the way, the line passes directly alongside the Eiger North Face, a vertical rock wall rising roughly 1,800 metres. From Eigergletscher, a rack railway continues through the interior of the Eiger and Mönch massifs before arriving at Jungfraujoch, part of the broader Lauterbrunnen attractions region in the Bernese Oberland.

At the top, the ticket covers access to three named sites: the Sphinx Viewing Platform, which sits at the summit and offers open views across the Aletsch Glacier and surrounding peaks; the Plateau, an outdoor terrace on the snow field; and the Ice Palace, a series of chambers carved into the glacier. A seat reservation is included in the booking. The excursion departs from Interlaken Ost station, and the ticket is valid for the full roundtrip, returning passengers to the same starting point. The route is wheelchair accessible throughout.
