Cutty Sark London: Entry Ticket + Afternoon Tea is a combined visitor and dining experience aboard the Cutty Sark, the world's sole surviving tea clipper, moored permanently at Greenwich on the south bank of the Thames. Built in 1869 by Scott and Linton on the Clyde, the ship was designed to carry tea from China to Britain as fast as possible, and at her peak she was the fastest sailing vessel of her class. She is now a Grade I listed ship and one of the most significant maritime artefacts in the country.

The experience runs for approximately three hours and combines full entry to the award-winning visitor attraction with a seated afternoon tea served directly beneath the ship's copper-clad hull. That setting, under the restored keel in the dry dock below the waterline, is unlike any conventional tearoom in London.

What to expect

Entry to the ship allows visitors to explore the main deck, the lower hold, and the cargo and crew exhibitions at their own pace. The displays cover the clipper trade routes, the engineering behind the vessel's record-breaking speed, and the lives of the sailors who crewed her on voyages to China and Australia. After or before exploring the ship, guests take their seats in the glazed underdock space beneath the hull for afternoon tea.

The afternoon tea includes a choice from a selection of teas alongside homemade finger sandwiches and sweet treats. Alcoholic drinks are not included. Booking covers entry to the attraction and the full afternoon tea sitting, with wheelchair access available throughout the site.

The Cutty Sark and getting there

The Cutty Sark has been open to the public in Greenwich since 1954 and underwent a major conservation and redevelopment project completed in 2012, which created the glazed underdock visitor space. The starting point is King William Walk, Greenwich, a short walk from Cutty Sark DLR station and within easy reach of the National Maritime Museum and the Old Royal Naval College.
