This guided walking tour combines Edinburgh's Harry Potter filming and inspiration locations with a gin-tasting session, running for three and a half hours in total. The tour begins at Tron Kirk on the Royal Mile and takes in Waverley Station, Edinburgh University Old College, and the Old Town's medieval streets, all of which fed into JK Rowling's wizarding world. Greyfriars Kirkyard holds the gravestone bearing the name Tom Riddle, and the Elephant Café on George IV Bridge is where Rowling wrote portions of the early novels. The route continues past Edinburgh Castle before reaching Victoria Street, the cobbled curved lane widely credited as the model for Diagon Alley.
After the walking section, guests have free time before the group moves to a cellar venue for a gin tasting covering gins from different Scottish and UK regions. The full experience lasts three hours thirty minutes and is led by a live guide throughout the two-hour walking portion. Tickets cover the guided tour, entry to the gin-tasting session, and all named stops along the route. The starting point is 122 High Street, Edinburgh. Hotel pickup is not included, and the tour is not suitable for wheelchair users. For more things to do in Edinburgh, the city offers a wide range of walking tours, museum visits, and cultural attractions across the Old and New Towns.
