Musée de l'Armée - Les Invalides: Dome - Private Guided Tour is a two-hour private guided tour of the Musée de l'Armée and the Dôme des Invalides in Paris, starting at 129 Rue de Grenelle. The Hôtel des Invalides was commissioned by Louis XIV in the 1670s as a hospital and residence for wounded soldiers, and its gilded dome remains one of the most recognisable silhouettes across Paris. A professional English-speaking guide leads the session throughout, and skip-the-line entry to the museum is included in the booking.

The tour opens in the courtyard of the Invalides, where your guide covers the building's origins under Louis XIV and leads you through the Cathédrale Saint-Louis-des-Invalides, built for the king's troops. From there, the focus shifts to Napoleon Bonaparte, tracing his military campaigns, his reputation as France's most consequential general, and the circumstances of his death in exile on Saint Helena. The session concludes beneath the golden dome at Napoleon's monumental tomb, a red quartzite sarcophagus set within a circular crypt. Tickets cover the private guide, all entrance fees, and skip-the-line access. Gratuities, food, and transport to the starting point are not included. Note that the tour is not suitable for wheelchair users.
