The beauty of the Alps is hard to grasp, and as you pass from lush valleys to the first sprinklings of snow, you know that something fantastic is waiting for you further down the line. The Jungfrau rail takes you on a magical journey from Interlaken to the saddle of Jungfraujoch, where you'll stand amidst the mountains. Via Grindelwald, you take the cable car "Eiger Express" from Grindelwald Terminal to the station Eigergletscher. The modern cable car, which opened in 2020, will take you from Grindelwald to the station in just 15 minutes. On the way, a magnificent view of the mighty 1800 m high Eiger North Face awaits you. At the Eiger glacier, you change to the rack railroad and ride through the mountain massif of the Eiger and Mönch to the Jungfraujoch.
Make your way to Interlaken Ost (East) station, which is your departure point for the full journey. Arrive in good time before your booked departure so you can locate the correct platform and board without rushing. The route involves more than one leg, including a change to the Eiger Express cable car at Grindelwald Terminal and then a further change to the rack railway at Eigergletscher station, so keep your travel documents to hand throughout.
At Jungfraujoch your ticket includes access to three areas: the Sphinx Viewing Platform, the open-air Plateau, and the Ice Palace. Wear warm, layered clothing regardless of the season, as temperatures at this altitude are significantly colder than in the valley. Sturdy, comfortable footwear is advisable for walking across the Plateau and through the Ice Palace.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time.
