This guided walking tour of Edinburgh combines a two-hour exploration of locations connected to JK Rowling's Harry Potter series with entry to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the British Monarch. The tour begins at Tron Kirk on the Royal Mile and takes in Waverley Station and Edinburgh University Old College, both cited as influences on Rowling's work. Visitors then walk through the Old Town to Greyfriars Kirkyard, where Tom Riddle's grave has become a well-known stop for fans, and past the Elephant Café, where Rowling wrote portions of the early novels. Victoria Street, widely regarded as the inspiration for Diagon Alley, and Edinburgh City Chambers are also on the route. The full experience runs approximately three hours and thirty minutes and is not suitable for wheelchair users.

After the walking section, tickets include entry to the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the foot of the Royal Mile. The palace, which dates to the early sixteenth century, serves as the monarch's official Scottish residence and contains the historic apartments of Mary, Queen of Scots, as well as the Great Gallery. A fun local guide leads the Harry Potter portion throughout. Food, drinks, and hotel transfers are not included. Booking covers the guided tour and palace entry; the meeting point is 122 High Street.
