Acerca de este lugar

Palau Baró de Quadras stands on the Avinguda Diagonal in Barcelona's Eixample district, one of the most architecturally striking buildings along that grand boulevard. Designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and completed in 1906, the palace was commissioned by the aristocrat Manuel de Quadras and represents a bold fusion of Gothic and Plateresque influences. Its ornate facade, with elaborately carved stonework and distinctive bay windows, draws the eye immediately, while the interior is equally rich in decorative detail, featuring coffered ceilings, stained glass, and fine tilework that reflect the ambitions of Catalan Modernisme at its height.

For many years the building served as the headquarters of the Institut Ramon Llull, the public body dedicated to promoting Catalan language and culture internationally. Guided tours of the palace are currently available, offering visitors the opportunity to move through its principal rooms and learn about both the architectural vision of Puig i Cadafalch and the broader cultural significance of this landmark in the story of Barcelona.
