Acerca de este lugar

The Royal Palace of Aranjuez stands on the southern bank of the River Tagus, roughly fifty kilometres from Madrid, and forms the centrepiece of a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. Built as a Bourbon royal residence, the palace draws on Italian and French architectural influences, with its symmetrical facades and formal gardens reflecting the tastes of the Spanish crown across several centuries. Philip II first established a royal house on the site, and successive monarchs expanded both the building and its grounds, including the celebrated Parterre garden and the shaded walks of the Jardín de la Isla.

Today the palace operates as a museum administered by Patrimonio Nacional, preserving state apartments furnished with silk hangings, porcelain collections, and painted ceilings that document the life of the Spanish royal court. Guided tours lead visitors through these interiors, providing context for the dynastic history and decorative arts on display. The surrounding landscape, with its riverside promenades and ornamental fountains, extends the visit well beyond the palace walls.
