درباره محل

درباره این محل

Cricoteka Tadeusz Kantor Art Center stands on the southern bank of the Vistula in Krakow, occupying a striking contemporary building that cantilevers over a preserved nineteenth-century power station. The centre is dedicated entirely to the life and legacy of Tadeusz Kantor, one of the most influential theatre directors and visual artists of the twentieth century. Kantor founded his experimental Cricot 2 theatre company in Krakow in 1955, and Cricoteka grew from the archive he established to document that work. Today the permanent collection holds costumes, props, set designs, photographs, and film recordings that trace the development of his radical productions, including the celebrated Theatre of Death cycle. Visitors move through spaces that reflect Kantor's own aesthetic sensibility, where objects carry the same charged presence they held on stage.

An entry ticket gives access to the permanent exhibition, which places Kantor's practice within the broader currents of European avant-garde art and performance. The building itself, designed by the Krakowian studio Wizja, received wide architectural recognition when it opened and has become a landmark along the Vistula embankment.
