NYC: Lower East Side Food Tour at New York Food Tours

The NYC Lower East Side Food Tour is a three-hour guided culinary walk through some of New York's most historically layered neighbourhoods, starting at the African Burial Ground National Monument on Canal Street. The route moves through the Lower East Side, Chinatown, and Little Italy, areas that shaped the city's identity as successive waves of immigrants arrived from the late nineteenth century onward. A live guide leads the group, connecting the food stops to the broader stories of the communities that built them, covering themes of settlement, survival, and the ongoing pressures of gentrification.

Along the way, guests sample traditional foods including knishes and dumplings, purchased from locally owned businesses rather than tourist-facing chains. Each stop is chosen to reflect the cultural imprint of the neighbourhood's founding communities, and spending at these shops directly supports their continued operation. Tickets cover the live guide and all included food tastings for the full three hours. Additional food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. The tour is wheelchair accessible, and cancellations are accepted before the booked timeslot.
