À propos du lieu

À propos de ce lieu

Springs Preserve sits on the site of the natural springs that first drew settlers to the Las Vegas Valley, making it one of the most historically significant pieces of land in southern Nevada. The 180-acre grounds trace the story of Las Vegas from its origins as a desert oasis through to the modern city it has become, combining natural history, conservation, and cultural interpretation across a series of galleries, gardens, and outdoor trails.

The Nevada State Museum, located within the preserve, deepens that story with permanent collections covering the geology, palaeontology, and human history of the Great Basin and Mojave regions. Together, the two institutions offer a grounded counterpoint to the spectacle of the Las Vegas Strip, rooted in the land itself rather than in entertainment. Visitors can explore botanical gardens, wetland habitats, and interactive exhibits that examine how water shaped the development of one of the driest cities on earth.
