  • Spectacular visuals
  • Worth every penny

Visitors to Pena Palace & Park rave about the stunning architecture, beautiful gardens, and rich history of the palace. Many praise the friendly and knowledgeable staff, as well as the convenient shuttle service. Some visitors note that the palace and park can be crowded, especially during peak season, but overall, the experience is well worth the visit.

  • The palace is spectacular and we'll worth a visit but we didn't get inside as we couldn't wait for the only allocated time slot for inside the palace entry ( only 1 slot of 5 30 was available on the websitethe day before), which was fine and on us, but what I was really annoyed about was we met people there on the day who had just booked early slots which were available on the day ( but not online) If I had known that was an option, I wouldn't have booked the day before at all. Very strange system and very disappointing as we couldn't visit inside the palace.

  • The palace itself was great to look at though not to our taste inside. Extensive gardens create a nice atmosphere. If you choose to drive to Sintra be aware that parking is very challenging! The paid for street parking only allows 4 hours max stay

  • Pena Palace And Sintra in general is a wonderful experience and a must see when in the Lisbon area and buying ahead of time save waiting in longer queues and driving up to the ticket booth saves the legs and back a vigorous workout The guides are helpful and wear layers as the wind and shade can make things cool but then the sun comes out and it gets warm Enjoy the magical views and history and the kind people

  • Do not miss this incredible experience! Even in the rain and fog you could enjoy and feel the rich history every step of the way. Walking up to the palace you could begin to appreciate the work that went into building, and maintaining from the beginning. Every room has incredible details, make sure wehn you are in the chapel you look t the stain glass window for hidden easter eggs of the previous residents

  • Pena Palace was a lovely self-tour, incredible views and a sweet yummy restaurant. We walked to the Moorish Castle but it was challenging and exhausting. I wouldn't recommend the visit unless you are super-duper fit. That visit is all uphill+++ a and very windy.

  • Reading the reviews we knew we had to be up at The Palace 15 mins before our timed entry slot - we joined the Q and entered the inside of the Palace on time. 30 mins before our seems a rush but it was plenty of time to see everything in every room. Well worth buying tickets up front and getting a taxi from the train station.

  • We purchased the the tickets on my phone one evening at dinner. The process was simple and the tickets themselves were easy to access. We took the subway from Lisbon then hopped a bus to the the base of the castle road.it is a steep walk to get there but so worth it! The castle itself is beautiful and the grounds are spectacular. The trail from Penna to the Moorish castle is like walking in a poem. The peacocks even showed off for us! It is. Trip worth making.

  • This is an excellent place to visit, it is spectacular, one of the highlights of my week in Portugal. Its very easy to get to from Lisbon, to beat the crowds I took the early train from Rossio, and that still gave me the time to walk up from Sintra to the Palace. The track is steep, no denying that. The Palace itself, and the views, are amazing.
