Sanrio Puroland

Sanrio Puroland is an indoor theme park in Tama, Tokyo, dedicated entirely to the characters created by Sanrio, the Japanese company behind Hello Kitty and a cast of companions including My Melody, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin. Unlike outdoor parks, every attraction, parade, and performance here takes place under one roof, making it a year-round destination regardless of the weather. The park is built across multiple floors and centres on a large atrium where elaborately staged live shows and character parades take place throughout the day.

The park has cultivated a following well beyond its original audience of young children, drawing fans of Sanrio characters from across Japan and internationally. Its aesthetic leans heavily into pastel colours, theatrical spectacle, and the kind of meticulous character presentation that Sanrio has maintained since Hello Kitty was introduced in 1974. Current tickets include a standard one-day pass giving access to the full park, its rides, live entertainment, and themed dining and retail areas.
