The Mies van der Rohe Pavilion stands on Montjuïc hill in Barcelona as one of the most influential buildings of the twentieth century. Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich as the German national pavilion for the 1929 International Exposition, the structure was dismantled after the fair closed and later reconstructed on its original site, reopening in 1986. Its defining qualities are the radical simplicity of its plan and the richness of its materials: planes of Roman travertine, green Tinian marble, and golden onyx meet walls of tinted and clear glass, all reflected in two shallow pools. Georg Kolbe's sculpture Alba stands at one end, completing a composition that has shaped generations of architects worldwide.

Visitors today can explore the pavilion through a standard entry ticket or opt for a skip-the-line pass to move straight into the space. Family workshops offer structured ways to engage with the architecture, including a drawing session and a photography workshop called Look, Frame, Click. The Mies van der Rohe Pavilion Card provides broader access for those wishing to spend more time with the building and its programme.
