Pena Park is a historic royal park in Sintra, set across the forested slopes of the Serra de Sintra hills above Lisbon. Commissioned by King Ferdinand II in the mid-nineteenth century, the park was designed as a romantic landscape garden, with winding paths, exotic tree species imported from across the world, and a series of ornamental features spread across roughly 200 hectares. Entry tickets cover access to all park areas, including the terraces, the restaurant, and the Chalet of the Countess of Edla, a decorative retreat built for Ferdinand's second wife and one of the more unusual structures on the estate. Note that entry to Pena Palace itself is sold separately and is not included.

Visitors can walk the network of shaded paths through dense woodland, climb to viewpoints with wide views over Sintra and the Atlantic coastline, and explore the grounds at their own pace. The Chalet of the Countess of Edla features ornate cork and wood interiors that reflect the personal taste of its original occupants. The park has no fixed route, so the visit is self-guided throughout. Tickets are non-refundable and wheelchair access is not available across the terrain. For more things to do in Lisbon and the wider region, a range of options is available to plan around your visit.
