Tablao Flamenco 1911

Tablao Flamenco 1911 takes its name from the year flamenco first took root in this corner of Madrid, grounding the venue in more than a century of Andalusian artistic tradition transplanted to the capital. Situated in the city centre, it operates as an intimate tablao, the classic Spanish format in which performers and audience share a single charged space, with no proscenium arch separating dancer from spectator. The wooden stage, the stamping of heels, and the close acoustics are all part of a setting designed to let the art form speak without mediation.

The current programme centres on a dedicated Flamenco Show that brings together bailaores, cantaores, and guitarists in a live performance drawing on the deep song traditions of southern Spain. Madrid has long served as a meeting point for flamenco artists from across the country, and Tablao Flamenco 1911 continues that role, presenting a form of the art that is rooted in technique and duende rather than spectacle alone.
