Tentang tempat

Mengenai tempat ini

London County Hall stands on the South Bank of the Thames, directly opposite the Houses of Parliament, in one of the most architecturally commanding positions in the capital. Designed by Ralph Knott in an Edwardian Baroque style, the building served for decades as the headquarters of London's municipal government before its closure as a civic institution in 1986. Its grand interiors, including ornate council chambers and sweeping corridors, have since found new purpose as a cultural and entertainment destination.

Among its current offerings is Witness for the Prosecution, Agatha Christie's celebrated courtroom drama, which is staged within the building's historic Council Chamber. The setting lends the production an authenticity that a conventional theatre cannot replicate: the tiered public galleries, the formal woodwork, and the weight of the room itself become part of the experience. County Hall remains one of the few venues in London where the architecture and the performance are so deliberately intertwined.
