Set in early twentieth-century Russia, the play follows Lyubov Ranevskaya as she returns to her family estate, burdened by debt and facing the sale of the beloved cherry orchard. As a changing world presses in, old attachments collide with the need for change, and a family must decide what it is willing to lose.
