You'll see lacquer furniture and Chinese scholar furniture from the Han Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, from the 2nd BC to the 17th Century CE, juxtaposed with early Khmer sculptures from the 7th to the 13th century, and international contemporary art by Zeng Fanzhi, Nobuyoshi Araki, Anish Kapoor, James Lee Byars, Cristina Iglesias, and Adam Fuss. Located in a former Second World War telecommunications bunker renovated by British architect John Pawson, the institution encourages a conversation between different periods and cultures, and offers a new perception of ancient art.
