About the venue

About this venue

The Théâtre National de Chaillot occupies the monumental Palais de Chaillot on the Trocadéro hill in Paris, directly across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower. Designed by architects Léon Azéma, Louis-Hippolyte Boileau, and Jacques Carlu for the 1937 International Exposition, the building replaced the earlier Trocadéro palace and became one of France's most architecturally significant cultural institutions. Its vast wings frame the Jardins du Trocadéro in a sweeping arc, making the surrounding esplanade one of the most photographed settings in the city.

As a national theatre, Chaillot has long championed contemporary dance, physical theatre, and work that reflects the diversity of European and world cultures. The building's dramatic exterior and its position overlooking the Eiffel Tower also make it a sought-after backdrop for photography in Paris. A romantic photoshoot for couples is currently available at this iconic location, taking advantage of the grand architecture and the unrivalled Parisian panorama it commands.
