Villa Savoye is a modernist attraction in Poissy, on the outskirts of Paris, designed by Le Corbusier (Charles-Édouard Jeanneret) and completed in 1931. It is one of the most studied buildings of the twentieth century and was listed as a historic monument while Le Corbusier was still alive, a rare distinction. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the villa was conceived as a demonstration of his five points of architecture: pilotis raising the structure off the ground, a roof garden, an open floor plan, horizontal ribbon windows, and a free facade. Entry tickets give access to the building and its grounds at 82 Rue de Villiers, Poissy, a short distance from central Paris.
Visitors move through the villa at their own pace, taking in the pilotis on the ground level, the main living areas on the first floor, and the rooftop terrace with its curved windbreak wall. A guided tour is included when available on the day of the visit. Each ticket includes a printed booklet available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, or Portuguese. An audio guide in French, English, Japanese, Spanish, or Russian can be hired on site for an additional fee. Note that the site has no wheelchair access, and tour lectures are not included in the standard entry price.
Make your way to 82 Rue de Villiers and arrive in good time before your entry slot. On arrival, collect your printed or mobile ticket and pick up your complimentary booklet, available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and Portuguese. If a guided tour is running on the day of your visit, this is included with entry, though availability is not guaranteed.
Villa Savoye is a historic monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so visitors are asked to treat the spaces with care. Photography for personal, non-commercial use is generally permitted in open areas, but follow any on-site instructions regarding restricted rooms or fragile surfaces. An audio guide is available to hire on site for a small additional fee, currently 3 euros, in French, English, Japanese, Spanish, and Russian.
Free cancellation up to the day of the experience.
