Arrival and timing

Make your way to the starting point at Reforma Agraria-Puerto Juárez Km 25 ahead of your scheduled departure. The full tour runs for six hours, so wear comfortable walking shoes and bring sun protection, as much of the route passes through open habitats including farmland, forest and wetland areas. Hotel pickup and drop-off is not included in the standard price but can be arranged for an additional fee.

What to bring

• Binoculars are available on request, but bringing your own is welcome.
• Breakfast is included, so there is no need to eat beforehand.
• Tips for your guide are not included and are at your discretion.
• Light, neutral-coloured clothing is advisable to avoid disturbing wildlife.

During the tour

This is an outdoor, walking experience across varied terrain. Keep noise to a minimum to give yourself the best chance of spotting birds, and follow your guide's instructions at all times, particularly within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and at the Muyil archaeological site. Photography of the landscape and wildlife is generally welcomed, but be mindful of your guide's direction in protected or culturally sensitive areas.
