The Church of Our Lady of Grace is one of Lisbon's oldest surviving religious buildings, an Augustinian church founded in the sixteenth century on the Graça hill in the Alfama district. The current structure dates largely from a post-1755 earthquake reconstruction, and the church retains a notable baroque interior alongside its original hilltop position. The terrace attached to the church sits at one of the highest points in central Lisbon, placing it among the city's most elevated public viewpoints.

The church is also associated with the veneration of Senhor dos Passos, a processional figure that draws one of Lisbon's most attended annual processions each Lent. Entry covers both the interior of the Church of Our Lady of Grace and access to the terrace above.

What to expect

Tickets give access to the church nave, where visitors can view the baroque altarpieces, azulejo tile panels, and the chapel housing the Senhor dos Passos figure. From the nave, access continues to the rooftop terrace, which looks out over the Tagus estuary, the Alfama rooftops, São Jorge Castle, and the Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. The terrace is an open-air platform, so conditions vary with weather. Entry is self-guided, allowing visitors to move at their own pace through both the interior and the viewpoint.
