The Mount Pilatus Silver Round Trip is a train excursion from Lucerne combining the world's steepest cogwheel railway, which opened in 1889 and reaches a gradient of 48 degrees, with a gondola and panoramic cable car descent. The route ascends from Alpnachstad to the Pilatus Kulm summit at 2,132 metres, offering views across the Alps and Lake Lucerne below.

Passengers travel up by cogwheel train and descend via aerial gondola to Kriens, with a short bus connection back to Lucerne. Tickets cover the full Silver Round Trip circuit, including all three transport segments. Departures are seasonal, running from May through November when the cogwheel line is operational.
