Castell de Montjuïc

Castell de Montjuïc stands on the summit of Montjuïc hill, overlooking Barcelona's port and the Mediterranean beyond. The fortress has served many roles across its long history, from a military stronghold and prison to a symbol of resistance and, eventually, a public monument returned to the city of Barcelona in 2007.
