Grounds at Waddesdon Manor is a landscaped garden estate open to visitors, set within the Chiltern Hills and reachable as a day trip from London. The grounds were laid out in the late nineteenth century for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild, and the formal gardens retain their Victorian character, with clipped parterres, seasonal bedding displays, and Italian statuary placed throughout the landscape. Sweeping views across the Chiltern Hills frame the setting, and the Aviary houses a collection of rare and exotic birds within an ornate Victorian structure that is one of the few surviving examples of its kind in Britain.
Visitors move freely through the gardens at their own pace, taking in the statuary, the planting schemes, and the Aviary. The Stables Café provides hot drinks and a lunch menu for those looking to rest mid-visit, and a gift and wine shop stocks Rothschild estate wines alongside Manor merchandise. Entry covers access to the grounds and Aviary. The Manor house interior, shuttle bus, and food and drink are not included but can be purchased on the day. The Welcome Pavilion serves as the starting point, and the site has full wheelchair access throughout.
