Puffing Billy Steam Train: Belgrave to Gembrook Return Ticket at Puffing Billy Railway

Puffing Billy Steam Train is a heritage narrow-gauge railway running through the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, operating since 1900. The return journey covers 24 kilometres of track between Belgrave Station and Gembrook Station, passing through rainforest, fern gullies, and stands of tall Mountain Ash trees. The railway is one of the few remaining steam-operated lines in Australia and runs on a 762mm gauge track that dates to the original construction era.

Passengers travel in open-sided carriages, which allow an unobstructed view of the surrounding bush and the option to sit with legs dangling over the side, a tradition associated with the line. On-board commentary covers the history of the railway and the local landscape. The return ticket covers both the outbound and inbound journeys between Belgrave and Gembrook, making it a full-day outing from Melbourne.
