Pena Palace is a 19th-century Romanticist palace set within the Sintra hills, roughly 30 kilometres north-west of Lisbon. Commissioned by King Ferdinand II and completed in 1854, it combines Gothic, Moorish, Manueline, and Renaissance architectural styles across its towers, battlements, and brightly coloured facades.
