Almodóvar Castle: Entry Ticket at Almodóvar Castle

Almodóvar Castle is a medieval landmark near Seville, rising above the town of Almodóvar del Río on a hilltop that has been fortified since Roman times. The castle took its current Moorish form during the 8th and 9th centuries under Arab rule, and was later expanded by Castilian kings. It gained a new wave of attention as a filming location for Game of Thrones, standing in as Highgarden in the series. Entry is self-guided, and visitors receive a map at the gate to navigate the towers, battlements, and interior courtyards at their own pace.

The ticket covers access to the full castle circuit, including the Jardín del Foso, the moat garden running along the outer walls, and the Castle Lookout, which offers wide views across the Guadalquivir valley. Informational panels throughout the site trace the history of the fortress from its Roman and Moorish origins through to the medieval Christian period and its 20th-century restoration.
