  • Stunning staging
  • Powerful performances
  • Unforgettable music
  • Emotional journey

Rated 4.5 out of 5, this intimate theatrical production earns consistent praise for its moving portrayal of Monet's life, clever staging and powerful music. Audiences highlight the strong cast, particularly the actor playing the older Monet, and appreciate the emotional depth of the storytelling. A small number of reviewers felt the running time could be trimmed, but most left genuinely moved.

  • From the story i learnt much about Monet and love the production too whereby old Monet reflects on key areas of his life. The actors were great especially the chap playing the mature reflecting Monet. Loved the show and insight it gave me too!

  • Love it! It was wonderful to see the life of an artist in a live show and having been to his museum and house in Giverny totally made it worth it! Will definitely recomend and loved the creativity to show case his works in the show.

  • We knew some of the history, but it was fascinating to see it so movingly portrayed.

  • Plenty of energy in this show and the subject - fundamentally Monet's relationship with his wife Camille - an interesting one. The spoken parts of the show went well, and the set a clever and effective design for a smallish stage, with actors well directed. The many changes of lighting also good. On the downside I found the musical numbers an irritating interruption to the flow of the drama rather than enhancing it; when singing the actors were over-miked; not all the notes were there, and many were approached from underneath (I appreciate this is the modern way of singing musicals); and the music itself left no great impression, being of the sub-Sondheim variety. Mine may be a minority view as the audience was very appreciative at the end, but my own feeling was that it would have been a more enjoyable evening as a straight play rather than a musical. First time at this theatre, liked it a lot, an excellent small venue, staff very welcoming and helpful (especially at the ticket desk).

  • I enjoyed learning more about Monet’s life, clever staging, enjoyed each performer’s depiction of His or her character. Production seemed about 30 minutes too long

  • Great intimate theatre and a great show with an amazing cast!

  • Replete from an art inspired and inspiring musical about the great Monet. Moved to tears, laughter and joy. A memorable musical about a magical artist - thank you .

  • Intimate theatre. Powerful, tuneful emotive music. Startling special effects. I was looking on the stage for the puddles when the rain came by pouring down! The story was more or less true to life without overburdening with Monet's second marriage. The ending scene was a bit abrupt.
