Basilica of Santa Croce

The Basilica of Santa Croce stands on the eastern edge of Florence's historic centre, its white, green, and pink marble facade facing a broad piazza that has served as a gathering place for the city for centuries. Designed in the Gothic style and attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio, the basilica is the largest Franciscan church in the world and holds a singular place in Italian cultural life.
